Boat and Pleasure Craft Operator Deadline

Attention all operators of a motorized boat or pleasure craft.  Transport Canada has set a deadline of September 15, 2009 where persons of any age operating a motorized boat or pleasure craft (PWC) of any size must demonstrate proof of operator competency.

One form of operator competency is the Pleasure Craft Operator Card.  To obtain the card, a person must score at least 75% on an accredited test that covers boating safety rules, regulations and emergency response.

If you are planning on operating a motorized boat or pleasure craft in Canadian waters and do not yet have proof of competency, a Pleasure Craft Operator Card can be obtained here.

Safe & Happy Boating!
