Turkey Season 2009 in Ontario

Turkey hunting season 2009 opens today in Ontario, Canada.

The Field Staff at BringMeOutdoors.com want to wish everyone a safe hunt and to have fun outdoors!

To hunt wild turkey in Ontario, residents must have a valid outdoors card, small games license, turkey license, and you must have completed the wild turkey course offered by the MNR / OFAH.

For a complete list of regulations and requirements for both Ontario residents and non-residents, please see the official Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources website located:
http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/FW/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_173985.html

While hunting, please have respect.  This means no tresspassing, only hunt land that you have permission to be on, abide by the ethical fair chase principle, abide by your federal, provincial, regional and town laws and by-laws, and if you get into a confontation with another hunter remember to walk away (and follow up with the land owner, police or conservation authority).

Lastly, remember to share the outdoors with others.  Tell friends about the success of the wild turkey reintroduction to Ontario only 25 years ago.  Show your kids how to use a turkey call.  If you successfully harvest a wild turkey, invite family and friends over to share in your excitement.
